What mistakes are pervasive in space films?

A near-ubiquitous mistake found in space films is airlock hatches opening outwards.

In reality it always opens inwards, so that the pressure difference presses on it and “locks” the hatch.

This would not be a problem if the airlocks were constantly depressurized, which is obviously not the case.

So in reality it would be absolutely impossible to open the hatch of an airlock from the outside, so we immediately forget the “collision” scenes.

Gravity therefore cheats because all the airlocks in the film open to the outside, which suits the scenario well and offers these scenes of violent depressurization of the airlocks.

The Martian and Interstellar get around the problem by doing so much nonsense that it’s not possible to study it.

Finally, Gemini and its two hatches which opened outwards.

Have a nice day and long live the cinema!
