Does Tom Cruise really have an extraordinary power of persuasion?

At the end of 2018, Tom Cruise announced to the Paramount studio that he intended to shoot two new Mission: Impossible films , parts 7 and 8, in a row.

Only here, Tom Cruise does not yet have the scenario of the first of the two films. It has only one treatment, that is, a kind of summary of the plot of the film.

He asks Paramount to sign him a blank check, promising them that they will not regret it, on the one hand, and that it will be reasonable with the budget, on the other hand.

Normally, a studio does not launch the production of a film without having the scenario. That’s the basics. Because without a scenario, it is impossible to calculate the budget.

But Tom Cruise will still manage to take the studio on board with him.

“He’s someone who has a lot of charm and infectious enthusiasm,” says a studio manager on condition of anonymity. He has immense powers of persuasion. No one would ever have validated such expensive films without having validated the script, but Tom Cruise still managed to sign Mission: Impossible 7 and 8 with the nerve. »

Unfortunately for Paramount, the pandemic hit, filming was halted, and production costs soared. Mission: Impossible 7 was supposed to cost around 200 million and ended up at 290 million…

Its breakeven point is therefore now at 900 million dollars.

Knowing that the previous film in the saga (2018) had generated around 800 million at the box office (which was already 100 million more than the previous part), it will not be so easy to exceed 900 million with chapter 7…

The blockbuster economy is tough. As soon as a film costs more than 200 million, the chances of making it a source of big profit decrease considerably.

Tom Cruise promised Paramount that the money lost on #7 would be made up with #8, currently being filmed, whose costs, shared with #7, should be much more modest.

To be continued…

Has anyone really broken Tom Cruise’s record for time spent underwater?

Tom Cruise actually stayed underwater for 6 minutes in 2015 for the film Mission Impossible 5. This time is a record for an actor and for a film shoot.

The world record for apnea is in fact 11 min 35 by Frenchman Stéphane Milsud in static apnea.

To return to the time achieved by Tom Cruise, he was beaten during the filming of Avatar 2 by Kate Winslet who remained in apnea for 7 min 14 sec.

They don’t all lack air.

Why did Tom Cruise get into such a rage on the set of the latest “Mission: Impossible”, yelling at his collaborators?

In December 2020, as the pandemic raged, filming of Mission: Impossible No. 7 restarted near London. It was the first major production to return to work.

A clandestine recording was then published by the tabloid The Sun where we could hear Tom Cruise giving a soap to his team.

The star reportedly saw two technicians talking to each other up close as they looked at a control screen. However, very strict security measures had been put in place on set, where a distance of two meters between each person had to be observed.

Seeing this breach of health protocol, Tom Cruise would have exploded with rage. Because if the team were affected by covid and forced to close shop, it would not only be a big problem for the production of the film, but also for the film industry as a whole.

“Every night I spend hours on the phone with every fucking studio, insurance company, producer!” the star can be heard screaming on the recording. They are all watching us and taking us as an example. They want to see if it can work. What we are doing will determine the fate of an entire industry. If we can do it, that’s thousands of jobs, you motherfuckers! So if I see one of you doing something like that again, you’ll be fired on the spot! I never want to see that again! Never again ! We’re not going to interrupt the filming of this damn movie because of your irresponsibility! And I don’t want to hear your excuses. So go say sorry to your colleagues who are losing their fucking homes because of this pandemic! Or who can’t feed their family or pay for their kids’ education! »

Does Tom Cruise regret not having seen Suri Cruise, his only child, for many years?

According to former members of Scientology who have spoken out on the subject, Tom Cruise has not seen his daughter for 6–7 years because she is no longer part of Scientology and is therefore a negative influence on him.

Like Jehovah’s Witnesses, Scientologists have a pretty formidable ability to cut ties with people who don’t share their beliefs. Even if it’s their children.

Does he regret it?

He never spoke on the subject. But we can assume that he suffers from this situation, even if he is conditioned to accept it.

Why did Tom Cruise divorce his three wives when they were exactly 33 years old?

Tom Cruise seems to be the victim of a strange curse. All the women who married him left him when they were 33 years old.

Just like Mimi Rogers and Nicole KidmanKatie Holmes left Tom Cruise at the age of 33 in 2012. Only Penelope Cruz, whom he did not marry, escapes the rule.

But there’s another disturbing coincidence…the age difference between each of Tom’s wives. Mimi Rogers was born in 1956, Nicole Kidman in 1967 and Katie Holmes in 1978. They are therefore each eleven years apart! And if we multiply 11 by 3, we get 33! (ok I admit, it’s a bit far-fetched)

So we can predict Tom Cruise’s romantic future. If the calculations are correct, his future wife should be born in 1989 and they will divorce in 2023.

Who is a better actor: Leonardo DiCaprio or Tom Cruise?

Answering this question subjectively seems easier; However, I will objectively try to satisfy the readership.

In the beginning and beforehand, I must warn this readership that my preference leans more towards Leonardo. But I promise not to take it into account for the future…

Objectively:

-we have here two mega stars, perhaps even the two best-known world stars today.

-they started their careers early and were both young iconic triggers of feminine panurgisms and love… They cannot go out without creating a crowd, eat a pizza without triggering rushes…

-they are both the highest paid stars in terms of fees (no bad spirits, please). Who wins the most of the two, to tell the truth I don’t care as much as who of the two has the biggest…

-they are both gifted in incarnation. They invest themselves “to death” in their roles. Their perfectionism is awesome…

But, then, how can we decide between them, if not subjectively, according to the affects of each?

But, objectively, some differences:

If Tom Cruise could have played certain roles of Leonardo Di Caprio, like Romeo + Juliet for example, I don’t see him in Aviator as good as Leonardo. While Leonardo could have played all of Cruise’s roles…

In other words, Leonardo is more “chameleon” than Tom Cruise.

Tom Cruise, as he gets older (and perhaps also because of the rectitude of the regimentation in Scientology), has become more distant and plays pincher roles without laughing, always tending towards action serious and smiling little (Mission Impossible) . In comedy (example Thunder in the Tropics, where he is unrecognizable), there is something forced about him, less natural than his counterpart Di Caprio.

Leonardo Di Caprio is more malleable, plastic and goes from serious to laughing easily. — He can play anything, even art house films, territory never taken by Tom Cruise…

And then, let’s ask ourselves this innocent question: who, as a friend, would you prefer to spend a vacation or an evening with? — We still have the feeling that with Leonardo, it will be more relaxed, more “good-natured,” kidding, than with the “methodist” and cold Tom Cruise. Because Tom Cruise, in fact, today inspires a certain coldness and distancing, very different from the image of the young beginner in Cocktail or Top Gun.While Leonardo is not afraid to break his iconic image, playing both good guys and bastards. I also have this impression, I don’t know about you, that with Leonardo I could easily tap him on the shoulder, comrade; what I don’t see with Tom Cruise… Leonardo has a more popular, closer side. A bit like, at the time, another “who do you prefer between” — Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire, where the first would appear Leonardo and the second Tom Cruise.

Conclusion: Leonardo Di Caprio is better — because more of a chameleon actor than Tom Cruise.
